This course explores the planning and design of architectural fountains and water features. Participants will examine common water feature types, site conditions, water behavior, and maintenance considerations that influence design decisions. The course also reviews mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and water treatment systems, along with the role of design documentation, mock-ups, lighting, and maintenance planning in creating functional, durable, and sustainable water features.

Learning Outcomes: 

1. Analyze common types of architectural water features and their key components to determine appropriate applications, operational requirements, and design considerations.
2. Assess site conditions, user circulation, water behavior, safety considerations, and maintenance requirements to inform water feature design decisions.
3. Determine space, utility, and access requirements necessary to effectively integrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and water treatment systems into project designs.
4. Evaluate the role of design documentation, mock-ups, hydraulic systems, lighting, water quality management, and maintenance planning in achieving functional, durable, and sustainable water features.
