Statewide Partnership for Education & Funding Initiative

Supporting Community Health & Wellness through Inclusive Park Destinations

NCRPA, PlayCore and GameTime have partnered in a collaborative effort to improve the quality of life in communities through our 2nd Statewide Healthy Play Initiative. The goal of this partnership is to provide quality education, evidence-based resources, and funding opportunities to create healthy play and recreation spaces across the state of California.

About the Professional Development Event:

Parks are essential to creating healthier, happier communities for people of all ages and abilities. Champion inclusive play and recreation destinations that thoughtfully align with evidence-based design best practices by addressing the needs of the whole child,  the whole environment, and the whole community. Leadership case examples that have utilized the 7 Principles of Inclusive Playground Design to demonstrate health and wellness outcomes will leave you inspired to turn research into practice across North Carolina!  This virtual professional development opportunity is designed to support NCRPA members’ efforts in applying for the Accessibility for Parks (AFP) Grant Program,  to help break down barriers for both physical access and social participation to occur to the greatest extent.

Coffee and CEUs Provided:

Coffee, educational resources, and continuing education certifications will be provided. CEUs will be provided for a total of 1 Professional Development Hours (0.1 IACET CEU / 1.0 AIA HSW LU / 1.0 LA CES HSW PDH) for learners meeting outlined requirements. The instructor of this learning event is employed by PlayCore and discloses interest in participants partnering with PlayCore on their play and recreation initiatives.
